Full member of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts (1893).
Academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1895).
Honorary member of the Moscow Society of Lovers of the Arts (1903).
Member of the Union of Russian Artists (1908).

1856-1861 he studied at  the Krasnoyarsk district school under Nikolay Grebnev.
1869-1871 he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts under Pavel Chistyakov, Pyotr Shamshin, Bogdan Villevalde, Fyodor Bruni.
1875 he was awarded a title of the class artist.
1877- 1878 he worked on monumental compositions for Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.
1880-1890 he visited France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain.

His paintings can be found at the Tretyakov Gallery, the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow),  Surikov Museum-Estate (Krasnoyarsk) and many other regional museums.

Exhibitions:

Since 1881 he participated in the exhibitions of the creative Association of Traveling Art.
In 1912 he participated at the exhibition of the Union of Russian Artists In 1900 he was awarded a silver medal at the World Exhibition in Paris.
