Alexei Tkachev has been numerously elected Member of the Board of the Artists’ Union of the Russian Federation
Sergei Tkachev has been Secretary of the Artists’ Union during one term and then was Head of the Artists’ Union of the Russian Federation in 1976–1984.

• State Prize (USSR,1978)
• Silver medal of the Academy of Arts (USSR,1961)
Alexei Tkachev graduated from the Surikov Art Institute (1951), the class of Dmitri Mochalsky.
Sergei Tkachev graduated from the same art institution (1952), the class of Sergei Gerasimov.
Their paintings can be found in the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) and many other museums and private collections in Russia, as well as abroad.
Personal exhibitions:
The painters had their joint shows in Belgrade (1961), Moscow (1961, 1975, 1979, 1992, 2002), Leningrad (1961) and also in Kuibyshev, Saratov, Volgograd and Sverdlovsk.
