• Lenin Prize (1966)

before 1912 – studied painting in Simbirsk (now Ulyanovsk)
1912 – 1914 – a student of the Stroganov Art School in Moscow
1914 – 1917 – made studies at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture simultaneously taking lessons from Abram Arkhipov, Alexei Stepanov and Apollinary Vasnetsov

• Ulyanovsk regional museum of arts
• Samara regional Museum of arts
• other major museum of the former USSR

He had his one-man shows in Moscow (1976, 1983, 1993 and 2003) and in Sofia (1964)
