Valentin Sidorov took his first lessons at the art studio of the Pioneers’ Home where his teacher was Anatoly Mikhailov. Later he made studies at Moscow secondary art school, in the class of Mikhail Dobroserdov, Vasily Pochitalov, Michail Matorin. On finishing the art school Sidorov joined the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad where his teachers were Pyotr Belousov, Rudolf Frents and Ivan Stepashkin.
1954 – Valentin Sidorov graduated from the Surikov Art Institute, the class of Pyotr Kotov, Fyodor Reshetnikov and Viktor Tsyplakov.
On graduation Sidorov became Professor of the Surikov Art Institute.
1960–1966 – Sidorov was chief executive of the Academy’s Dacha, resting home for artists.

Valentin Sidorov’s paintings can be found in the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), museums of Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Italy, Japan, France, UK, Germany, Jordan and China.

Exhibitions:

In 1951 Valentin Sidorov began to participate in public art exhibitions. He held personal exhibitions in Russia (Moscow, Omsk, Tambov, Lipetsk, Saransk, Ryazan), Ukraine (Kiev), Belorussia (Mogilev), Armenia (Erevan), Germany (Berlin). He also took part in group exhibitions in Venice, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.
