Member of the Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions (1911-1912)
Member of the Union of Russian Artists (1912-1913)
Member of the Association of Artists of the Revolutionary Russia (1924).

Studied art at the Central School of Technical Drawing (1895), Stroganov’s Art School (1896-1897) and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1898-1909) where his teachers were Vasily Baksheev, Alexei Stepanov, Valentin Serov and Konstantin Korovin.
1919–1920 – taught art at the Free Art Shops in Yekaterinburg

Leonard Turzhansky’s paintings can be found in

• Russian Museum (St. Petersburg)
• many Russian regional museums
• some private collections in Russia and abroad.

Exhibitions:

Turzhansky was actively involved in the public art exhibitions: with the Society of the Travelling Art Exhibitions (1904–1912), as member of the Union of Russian Artists (1904–1923), an member of the Assambleya (1924), the Association of Artist of the Revolutionary Russia (1926) and of the Association of Realist Artists (1927-28).
